10 million years since I've been here & i almost forgot my password.

just wanted to share an awesome song.

Tablo (fr Epik High) come back with his solo album recently - Fever's End. Honestly, with all the K-pop fever so high (a self confessed victim), Tablo really came back with a really good album. I really like the songs in this album maybe cos they are somewhat emotional reflection of what he feels & to an extent what i sometimes feel, or have felt at different times of my life.

Airbag was the first song I've heard in this album and still loving it. And i do think it's also one song that maybe reflected how he felt when he was surrounded with all the controversies last year.

In his album's commentary film, he also shared the thought process of each song. Here's on Airbag: (translation found on allkpop)

“I don’t drive so I often take cabs late into the evening, and I have a lot of thoughts about various things during my cab rides. I listened to the things people talked about on the radio, and I looked out the window to take a good look at the world and people walking by. And I felt like I could see the entire world from that small backseat of the cab. I could see just how lonely every day normal people were. This is the story of my loneliness and the loneliness of other people.”

Whether or not you are a fan of K-pop, i think this song is worth listening. After all, good music transcends all languages.

surprise, surprise.

i didn't blog a "reflect my life 2010" post last/this year.

maybe i didn't feel like it was an end, it felt very much more like a continuation.

i guess it is largely due to the fact that i've stop studying and everything becomes a continuity. you do not stop for holiday, and go back for a fresh start. instead, you continue what you usually do (unless you quit i guess)

and so, yes, i didn't quit my job. i've continued to be in a field that i wasn' t educated in, not the most experienced about. i've stayed on for many reasons to be left unshared, and many other reasons that people will not understand and i don't seek understanding for, perhaps except for my boyfriend, who have been really really supportive. i can't be more thankful. he has been a pillar to me. i hope i have been one for him too.

i've been surprised by my positivity that i have for the new year, considering the really low months that i had just before the end of 2010.

i've proven to myself that, many a times, it's all about mindset.

this month has proven to be one of the most challenging working month i've ever experienced thus far in terms of workload, stress load, responsibility, deadlines, suayness... u name it, i have it.vand it really doesn't help when i have external projects to complete beyond my 5 1/2 fixed work days.

but my mind have been in a positive state where i really believe that i will complete the things i've promised to do in a professional manner, and be part of a memory that i will hold dearly to me.

and i thought, this, is very much more worthy to be shared with everyone.

i just pray that i will be given the mental strength to stay in a positive manner for the days to come. :)

and i wish all good health, good wealth, experience good things and hold good smiles in 2011.

christopher nolan surpassed himself again, and again.

inception, to me, is his greatest work.

you have insane storyline, seamless edit, technology used for its best moments, good directions, good sound, right actors & so much more that i think using words itself doesn't serve him any justice.

if you ask me,

inception isn't really about dreams or reality.

to me, it's about him and movie making and what movie really means to him.

i was on my the bus this morning, and this sweet little girl was sitting at the front seat while her daddy is driving.
and with her big eyes, she just explored her surroundings.
i swear when the car drove past us during the jam, 98% of the sulking working adults on the bus smiled when they caught a glimpse of her.

and its sweet to see my nephew now and watch him do hilarious stuff when im back from a long day. at the least, i didn't have to hear him scream and shout during the day and label him as irritating. lols.

其实，回来的感觉很奇怪。

似乎从来没有离开过。

直到尝试到新加坡无理头的炎热，我才惊觉，我回来了。

不是因为不好玩，相反的，是好玩到我已经融入在那个环境里了。

甚至在搭飞机回来时，我还有错觉认为自己在乘搭火车般，到岛的另一个地方去玩了。

和台北城市相比，我发现我还是比较喜欢朴素的地区。

不知道是真的有差，还是我们在这些地方遇到的人超好。

A must watch film of the year. A simple yet beautifully crafted film with remarkable acting. To some, the story may be a 老掉牙, but at the same time, you are clueless to how it is able to make you laugh and steal your tears at the same time. I walked away, knowing why it won Oscar's Best Foreign Film, though I can't put my words as to what elements made it possible. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter at all.

It's a film that you will definitely be touched, at some point, or even all.

莫名的感动－宝岛一村

很庆幸，看了这部简单，却动人心悬的《宝岛一村》。

很久没有看舞台剧了。

更久没有看那么棒的舞台剧了。

笑了，哭。

哭了，又笑。

赖声川和王伟忠根本就是想整死人。

即使对历史不明了，我想没有人不被他们所感动。

撇开剧情，感动不谈，

在交流会上，不知是赖导还是王伟忠说了句话，让我深思了许久。

有些人一生就想要当最特别的人，

而百般学艺。

I ought to be playing hard, real hard, since its the 2nd last chance I'm going to get a recess week in my entire life. But half the time I'm stuck home, either too lazy to move around in this hot weather, or baby sitting, or PRETEND to baby sit, or trying to do research for my FYP, and trying to figure out how to create a web, the knowledge and skills I once possessed and thrown away one and a half years ago.

And I'm trying hard to get use to having another person in my house, and ignoring my nephew's really strong milk smell and his hard-to-miss cries. Grrrr

But I still love him.

i've becoming so easily tired lately that i can't stay awake past 1am unless im working.
Gone were the days when i could just lie on my bed, stone, surf net, read aimlessly.

i've became a tired creature yearning for sleep and rest.
then i concluded its the monthly visit that results such restlessness in me.
while my partner told me, its the full day work during the 2 Sundays that has squeezed me dry.

Whatever it is,
this weekend, I had the honour of having a long weekend rest so I can finally make some calls to Taiwan,
thankfully, I've gotten thru some and I will wait paitently and hopefully for their positive replies.
So weekend was dance, nua, rest, tv & dvd watching, calling, and mayday-ing, which is also the main reason why i'm blogging today.

Totally glad that I fork up the big bucks to watch their concert this year.
I'm pretty sure it's one of the best they had, although I missed the previous years, but judging from the madness of the crowd, I'm sure it was a hit in the nail concert for them so far.

And being not a mad fan of mayday, but a supporter of their songs,
I behaved like I was a sticky fan who has gone thru thick n thin with them.
But with much guilt, i knew my love for them was nothing like those around me.

But heck, I enjoyed myself tonnnnnnnnnnesssss and thank god for knowing most of the songs they chose to perform that day. grin.

The only down side for me was when i could no longer stand with the crowd in the midst of the concert, because I know if I do any longer, I will be puking on the ground of Indoor Stadium or faint amongst the crowd.

Thankfully, it all happened durin the time when they played the older songs and i was unfamiliar to most of them. Pity i couldn't catch a glimpse when the boys were playin and talking on stage. Everyone was standing and cheering and having so much fun that they thought I was a useless girl who got tired and didn't want to stand and cheeeeeer.

Poooo.

No i wasn't, i was just preventing myself from being the first audience to be carried away from the crowd becos I fainted. heeee.

I thank god for letting me rest and recover enough energy to continue to enjoy the concert.
=) If not, the spending would have gone to much waste.

Another bonus was meeting people I haven't seen for ages like Mr.Tham Yehyang. =)

Nothin more to say abt the rocking concert.
Only that Mr.Fu zhikang, a BIG pity you din come! =p

im turning my room upside down.
my hall room i mean.
im half way thru packing, and now im stuck, cos i have no boxes, no plastic bags to pack my stuff into and i dont even haf a trash bin to throw my "unwanted" things in.
right.
im just waiting.

then its the scary feeling again,
the same feeling i felt when i was clearing my home room one year ago when they decided to renovate and remove more storage spaces from my million piles of things.
i look at the things around me.
and i cant decide, what has to be thrown, what has to be brought home, what has to be left behind.
its not like all these little things were trash and i decided not to throw them away till like now.
but the freakin fact is that they are the little things that have accompanied me thus far.
some, even, i've moved them from home, since there's not much space back there, to hide for a few years, and now i guess they know their fate.
they are staring back at me, pleading me not to throw them away.

i guess its never the things.
its always the memories attached beneath these tangible stuff that stops me from throwing them away.
its like, you are always afraid, that you're throwing a part of you away by accident.
or even, by chance, like now.

"Memories are wonderful things, if you don't have to deal with the past." - Celine, Before Sunset.

I finally watched the film that was highly recommended by many and the result leaves me with no regrets. Some may have heard of Before Sunrise, and by the title many would have guessed that Before Sunset is by itself its sequel. Then again, it's terrific just as a stand alone since i haven't watched the first. An intriguing dialogue film that keeps you captivated till the last words of the characters. Hola! Watch it if you have the chance people, worthy and time passes without you even noticing. =)

I wasn't guilty of not updating my blog since i thought its of my own pleasure and desire to choose when I want to update, then one day I received an early xmas greeting card from an oversea fren whom I missed tonnes, I've decided to write a little here, so she knows what is keeping me up these days. =)

It's been a weird holiday so far since its been a while i live a holiday without working. Working as in doing stuff with money income. Yesh. But I'm still RATHER busy since i've decided to help out with a number of shoots this week. A FYP that successfully finished filming in a span of four days, a uhmmms green bean shoot by mr.tan and co. and of cos the exciting runaround film coming up next week. oh. not to forget, i will prob be filmin one soon.

And I've turned myself into a movie/film/tv junkie AGAIN. yays. and now i know how i missed those days. It's like turning back time and going back to really long ago when you can watch a movie and analyze and talk deeply how you really feel about it. Though back then, i was probably the only one talking, now I'm able to at times engage in a discussion. I thought i've lost it though then i realise its all about the company.

No offense. Just that its a pleasure to be watching movies with different people cos everyone looks at things so differently. Even being broadcast students ourselves, we are looking at different aspects of a film.

Right, enough about ME being a movie junkie lately and filming, oh but I do have a good film to recommend in the midst of all the fantasies and happy season movies flooding the theatres this season. Watch WARLORDS.

I think chinese films done fairly well this year with Lust, Caution breaking the cinema with all the controversials and poking and pushing audience's expectations to its boundaries, WARLORDS continues to surprise us and marks a victory end for chinese movies in 2007.

I was never a fan of Jet Li, since I've never really seen the chinese films he acted in like HERO etc. and his image was stuck with him being Huang Fei Hong and some of his really mundane acting in some really trashy Hollywood pieces. Then came Warlords which he did impress me, not as an amazing actor, but also someone who has gone through so much within himself. I don't want to talk to much about the show, just go watch it. I thought its a good change of taste for those joyous movie flooding the scene now since its xmas season. =)

Oh. and i went for a scholarship interview which I felt so out-of-place but ended up being inside the longest, simply because I was talking soooo much about films. Not very hopeful about this cos I still think the interviewees are smokin me abt not finding a journ student for it, but still i'm crossing my fingers.

It's never bad to have some bonus luck coming your way.

And, i should really shut up.

But i wanted to say, the entry started out with me wanting to speak about other stuff, I didn't know why I said so much OTHER stuff, but to hell with it.

home sweet home.

it didnt occur to me that i've been camping at home for the past 2 weeks.
till i came home today and cldnt recognise my house door, well literally, since my house has been furnished to prepare for my brother's wedding tmr.
the happy occasion aside,
im still feeling weird abt not waking up and go to CS for our routine study.

went over last nite to pass the boys some snacks while they edit thru the nite,
and i think its a subconcious thing in me of wanting to be at CS.
but when i was back there, there isnt a familiar face that i can recognise,
or rather, there isnt anyone. (besides the boys)

odd, very odd.
i was never this attached to the school compound.
lols.

but studying this sem has been surprisingly hardworking and playful.
clapsclaps for the efforts to report to sch everyday.
clapsclaps for the fun and crazy studying khakis, how amazing that studying has become the best way to make frens. Lol.

horray to the endless attempts to stray from studying to playing Net daidees, running out to watch lust, caution, sing k and eat supper. Oh and huanhuanai! x)
and 6 hours record of bridge playing till the morning breaks.
oh and i actually miss having a 'room' mate. pwahs!

im sure many had experienced bus uncles waiting for you, but have you heard of MRT train waiting for you?

Like, literally, knowing that you are boarding and wait for you?

See,

Charlene Tan and me were happily walking along somerset underground thinking that the last train will still be available after a while. Till we overheard the announcement saying that the last train has arrived and we better board now.

And so, we decided to run.

Like idiots.

yes, and i was thinking, shit we will NOT make it. cos we were still miles away when the signal flashed that the train has arrived and leaving soon.

GREAT.

Then the train station officer saw us running like mad, asked us if we were going to Marina bay direction, and charlene shouted yes.

And he signalled the number "2" to the officer who was sitting in the control station, and the next thing we know, both of us tapped our cards, ran downstairs, and saw the train's door still open and everyone wondering why isn't the train moving.

YES.

The train was really waiting for us, me and charlene tan.

HOW AMAZING.

Not by chance, you knew its waiting for you and you.

LOL.

im just OVERLY amused.

And when I took the train from city hall to home. Another incident happened.

This uncle who dint managed to get on the train, happened to place his hand on the train's door. Lucky for him the train hasn't moved. Then again, he lifted his hand, and the train moved off shortly but suddenly came to a stop. And opened the doors again.

Does the MRT trains have sensor or something?

LOL

Now you know why there are control stations around.

I've been seeing the samples of clothes, shoes, belts too much that I'm beginning to dream of them!

Maybe its the excitement for the event today, I dreamt of models fitting last night! GRIN. OH! And I dreamt I saw a shooting star too! Though someone in my dream corrected me that it was fireworks i was seeing. LOL.

ANYWAY.

YES.

My FIRST ever event, fashion show, what have you, happened today!
To be exact, its yesterday cos its past midnight now!

THanks to han darling who msged me when she saw the advertorial on the newspaper yesterday! =) u are the best! hahaaa

But anyway, I cant believe its over, really.

The whole fashion show took at most 10 minutes, and I cant explain how is it like when I saw the stage lighted up, the door opened and the models taking their strides on stage.

And when you recognise EVERY single piece up there, and you knew they went thru ur hands!

TOUCHING MOMENT!

I couldn't stop grinning I think!

Im always lost for words at such moments, so I wont go into details.

BUT just this whole month has given me insights to so much...
about myself, about people, about work. Even the full event today made me see the world. It's amazing I think... the way people interacts...

Im tired.

Really, not fun to walk entire orchard rd and standing most of the time w/o really eating too, and ended up with a few drinks.

But i guess it was worth it.

I cant wait to see ALL the editorials on it! Im gg to buy all the magazines that feature it!

Dear yehyang has shared with the world his interesting experience with the NEW Mrt metal benches and their incapability for anyone to sit on them properly.

Being really really lethargic after the day's work, I've decided to test his words for real.

And plop I took a seat,
and found myself sliding down in no seconds.
Hilarious.

I tried at least three times, all three times I find myself sliding, and sliding, and still sliding.

Then, being curious me, I looked at the people around me,
and shocked to see how determined these people are, trying to sit on the "cannot-sit-without-sliding" metal benches.

Upon observing, I've concluded the three qualities one must possess.

1. Long legs
2. Big butt
3. Patience

Long legs, if you don't have long legs, then you will probably be tip toeing like the many girls i've seen doing so far. Even I have to tip toe, maybe cos I've a shorter body.

Big butt. Bigger butt allows you to have better support when sitting on it. Bigger surface area of contact, chances of you sliding down is definitely smaller.

Patience. Upon failing, you have to keep trying to find the best position or solution suiting yourself. Everyone has their own style of sitting on that bloody useless bench. As proven by the observation. Damn, i should have taken photos as evidence.

Another tip, try using your hands to support yourself. It works. I've seen MANY doing so.

LASTLY, if you are pissed off by it,
then,
DON'T SIT.
Just stand, and save the energy from trying and getting angry.

Finally caught spiderman 3 with my sister today!
But I don't think its the best out of the three I have seen so far.
It was a little draggy for me, as explained from my few minutes knockout half way through the show. lols.
Ohh. and sitting in the second row made everything seemed blurry and uncomfortable!
Then again, it's not too bad, just not my favorite definately.
